Professor Jamaris is a member of the teaching staff for the Doctoral Degree Program at Padang State University. The Institute of Teacher Training and Education Bandung awarded him his doctorate degree in Education. He is also a permanent member of the National Education Standards Agency and the head of the West Sumatra Education Quality Assurance Center.
